Omid Alizadeh (S’12–M’14) is currently a Research Fellow at the Centre for Urban Energy, Ryerson University, Toronto, Ontario, where he is involved in the area of power systems engineering and renewable energy. He received the M.Sc. degree from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, both in Electrical Engineering. Omid served as the Chair of the Young Professionals affinity group in IEEE London section from 2012 to 2013. From 2014 to 2017, he has been an active member of the Toronto section’s Industry Relations committee and Young Professionals affinity group where he has organized or contributed to the organization of several seminars, industry tours, and entrepreneurship conferences.
