This two day seminar is for those who manage or work on projects, but have little or no formal training in the field. IEEE Toronto Section recipient of the 2006 RAB Section Sustained Membership Growth Award

On 15 June 2007, the IEEE Regional Activities Board (RAB) recognized the IEEE Toronto Section as a recipient of the 2006 RAB Section Sustained Membership Growth Award for their continued success for attracting and retaining Outstanding Leadership and their results in IEEE Membership Development Activities for the period of 2004 to 2006 in Region 7.

Photo ImageGeorge Eleftheriades Awarded 2008 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award
Professor George Eleftheriades (FIEEE) has been recognized with the 2008 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award, a prestigious IEEE Technical Fields Award given to only one person in any given year.

The IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award recognizes outstanding early to mid-career contributions to technologies holding the promise of innovative applications. The citation for Professor Eleftheriades' award is: "For pioneering contributions to the science and the technological applications of negative-refraction electromagnetic materials."

The IEEE Toronto Section would like to congratulate George Eleftheriades for this great achievement.

Trial of IEEE Spectrum Digital Delivery Debuts with July Issue  
10 JulyIEEE Spectrum debuted an all-digital version in July which will be offered as an optional IEEE member benefit in 2008. The digital version of the magazine will be sent to current IEEE members via a monthly email alert in an introductory trial that will run through December 2007. ............more
Rochester Institute of Technology to Provide Discounted Tuition to Members as Part of IEEE Education Partners Program

Volunteering a few hours a month is a very rewarding experience - we have a great group of about 45 volunteers who contribute to the smooth running of our Section - by distributing the workload over many Section members, the individual load is kept small.
