The Identity, Privacy and Security Institute (IPSI) of the University of Toronto - 2010 Research Symposium,
We take a well-functioning cyber infrastructure for granted, but
significant disruption arises when it doesn't work in the ways it's
expected to.
Many of the key technology challenges have been solved, but in their
place are arising thorny problems for which purely technical
approaches are inadequate. These issues can be summarized as "Can I
trust the infrastructure to behave the way I want it to?"
The Identity, Privacy and Security Institute (IPSI) of the University
of Toronto will look at these questions at a May 12, 2010 research
symposium, "Developing a Trusted Cyber Infrastructure for Canadians".
This symposium takes up questions from a broad range of perspectives.
It brings together researchers from disparate disciplines as well as
experts from the private, public and civil society sectors in lively
panel sessions to share research, offer insights and generally probe
these challenges.
The keynote speaker is Stefan Brands of Microsoft, who will be
speaking on digital credentials and Microsoft's new U-Prove suite of
technologies.
The schedule is available on the IPSI website at:
http://www.ipsi.utoronto.ca/2010Symposium.html.
Register online at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LFLJYD7. There is no
registration fee, and all members of the public are welcome.
