IEEE Toronto Section Executive Committee Biographies
The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. Mahmoud Matar - Industry Applications Joint Chapter Vice-Chair

Mahmoud Matar, Ph.D., received his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University , Cairo , Egypt in 2001; his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University , Cairo, Egypt in 2004 and his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto in 2009. Mahmoud joined AEA Consultant Firm as an Electrical Design Engineer for the period from 2001 to 2005. Mahmoud is currently a post doctoral fellow at the University of Toronto

Mahmoud is a member of IEEE since 2000. He is a technical reviewer in IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, Power Delivery, and Energy Conversion. He has also various IEEE journal and conference papers publications.
