IEEE Toronto Section Executive Committee Biographies
The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. On your behalf, we recognize their invaluable contributions.

Omar Falou - GOLD Affinity Group Treasurer

Omar Falou received his B.A.Sc. degree (Honour) in Applied Computer Science, and M.A.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He is currently a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson University. His research interests include building models to simulate the scattering of high-frequency ultrasound by cells and tissues which would provide a rapid non-invasive and inexpensive way to assess cancer treatments.

Omar served as Financial Chair, International Conference for Upcoming Engineers (ICUE 2007), Finance Officer, Ryerson Graduate Students’ Caucus. He was also the Vice-President Finance, and is the President of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Students’ Association at Ryerson University.
