Dimitri Androutsos, SM IEEE - Student Activites Chair, Past Membership Development Chair
Dimitrios Androutsos received his B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees
from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1992, 1994 and 1999, all in the
Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. His research interests
lie in the areas of image & video processing, multimedia archiving &
retrieval, distributed multimedia databases, image & video compression,
object segmentation, object tracking, image enhancement and image
filtering.
Dr. Androutsos is currently an Associate Professor at Ryerson
University, Canada, in the Department of Electrical & Computer
Engineering. He is a senior member of the IEEE, an executive committee
member of the IEEE Toronto Chapter, an executive board member of Sigma
Xi's Toronto Chapter and is also a registered Professional Engineer of
Ontario.
