The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) has approximately 8,000 members, making the IEEE EMBS the largest international society of Biomedical Engineers in terms of the number of individual members. EMBS has been serving the needs of Biomedical Engineers throughout the world since the early 1950's and through its leadership is striving to develop new ways to serve its members with workshops, publications, and distinguished lecture series.
