IEEE Toronto 2007 Annual General Meeting and Awards Dinner
This annual event is an opportunity for IEEE Toronto Section members to
meet each other as well as the dedicated group of IEEE volunteers who
give of their time to plan, organize and execute the wide range of
programs offered within the Section and elsewhere in Canada. Invited
guests typically include volunteer leaders from neibouring Sections and
IEEE Canada. The Section Chair reports on the past year's activities and
presents a variety of awards and recognitions.

Guest Speaker:
Dr. Ron Dembo is Founder and CEO of ZeroFootprint, a Toronto, Ontario-based
organization created to figh global warming by mitigating the
environmental impacts of businesses and individuals as well as
build a marketplace for people worldwide to engage in sustainable
commerce. Before founding ZeroFootprint, Dr. Dembo was President
and CEO of Algorithmics Incorporated, an Enterprise Financial Risk
Software Company. Prior to founding Algorithmics, he was a
professor of Computer Science and Operations Research at Yale
University. Dr. Dembo has written over sixty technical papers on
finance and mathematical optimization, and holds a number of patents
in computational finance. With Andrew Freeman, he is the author of
Seeing Tomorrow (1998), an analysis of behavioral finance and
cognitive bias. Dr. Dembo's most recent book, Upside, Downside:
Simple Rules of Risk Management for the Smart Investor (2006),
was co-authored with Daniel Stoffman.

Cost:
The (subsidized) ticket price for members of the Toronto Section (and a
companion) is $70 per person (and $50 each for lifemembers and a
companion).
Note: any member of the Section who wishes to attend the Section business
and awards portion of the evening's activities but who prefers not to attend
the dinner may do so (at no cost).

Note: Since seating is limited, you are urged to purchase your tickets as
soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The deadline for ticket
