Abstract CCRM (ccrm.ca) is a public-private partnership between industry, academia and the Canadian Centres of Excellence for Commercialization of Research. Its mission is to create a global nexus for regenerative medicine commercialization by unifying dynamic business leadership with high value stem cell technologies. This overview talk will present the regenerative medicine commercialization in Canada.
Biography Rahul is responsible for CCRMÕs business development activities including, assessment and in-licensing of high-potential regenerative medicine intellectual property (IP) assets, including the diligence of IP emerging from member institutions and managing Industry Consortium relationships. Before joining CCRM, Rahul was an Investment Manager with the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund, a Toronto-based venture capital fund where he evaluated and executed due diligence on life-science companies for seed-stage through series-B investment. Prior to that, he worked in strategic marketing at GE Healthcare's headquarters in the UK, identifying in-licensing and investment opportunities for GE's cell therapy and devices portfolio. Rahul has published and presented in the stem cell field, and is an inventor on two patents that have been licensed to Tissue Regeneration Therapeutics in Toronto. Rahul holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Oxford.
