| Abstract
|
Most new engineering graduates are uncertain about the procedures and requirements of P.Eng. licensure and what benefits such licensing has for them. For this reason, IEEE GOLD has arranged an interactive session in which you will be given the opportunity to find answers to many of your questions:
- What is P.Eng./PEO and what do they offer to Engineers and Society
- Who administrates P.Eng. licensing program and what is their role
- When this license program was established and what are the reasons
- Who is eligible to apply for P.Eng.
- What are the requirements for licensure and professional practice exam (PPE)
- Information about the PPE
- Where you can use your license

| Biography
|
Noreen E. Calderbank is a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Toronto. Noreen received her P.Eng. license in 1986. Her practice at both Atomic Energy of Canada and Ontario Hydro has gone from R&D, to design, to operations, station support and, finally, decommissioning. The highlight of this experience was her involvement on the Canadian Nuclear Fuel Waste Management Program (CNFWMP) dealing with disposal concepts for radioactive used fuel.
Noreen joined Professional Engineers Ontario in 2003 in the role of Manager, Pre-Licensing Programs. These include both the Engineering Intern and the Student Membership programs. Her goal is to create an atmosphere where students and interns understand and commit to the responsibilities of professionalism within their practice of engineering and achieve the successes that go along with this. |
