| Abstract
|
Mr. Chelf will provide an overview of static source code analysis, the
technology used in the analysis, and provide insight into how this
technology is evolving to meet the growing demands of the 21st century.
This presentation will also describe some of the most common coding
errors that software developers make, why they occur so frequently, and
how they can be discovered and addressed with automated analysis.
Further, the presentation will delve into the impact that such defects
can have - particularly on security. During his talk, Mr. Chelf will use
anecdotes from Coverity's experience with its contract with the
Department of Homeland Security to harden open source software with the
latest source code analysis technology.
