| Abstract
|
A power system seminar intended for the non-power system engineer or
technologist will be given. The seminar covers the basic components of a
power system – generators, transformers, lines and loads – how they
work, how they fit together and how they function as a unit. The
analysis of the power system will be illustrated by demonstrating a
simple power system. The seminar will conclude with an overview of some
performance measures of a power system.
The seminar is directed towards industrial engineers and technologists
that want to learn more about the power supply to their facility. The
seminar will also be useful to young engineers and technologist others
wanting to learn about electric power systems. Utility engineers will
find the material useful review of power system topics.
