IEEE Toronto Section Executive Committee Biographies
The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. On your behalf, we recognize their invaluable contributions.

Isaac Woungang, Computer Chapter Chair

Dr. Woungang received his M.Sc and Ph.D degrees, all in Mathematics, from Université de la Méditerranée-Aix Marseille II, France, and Université du Sud, Toulon-Var, France, in 1990 and 1994 respectively. In 1999, he received a M.Sc from the INRS-Énergie, Matériaux et Télécommunications,University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as a Software engineer at Nortel Networks, Ottawa, Canada. Since 2002, he has been with the Department of Computer Science at Ryerson University where he is now an Associate professor. In 2004, he founded the Distributed Applications and Broadband NEtworks Laboratory (DABNEL) R&D group. His research interests includes Network security, Computer communication networks, Mobile communication systems, and Coding theory. Dr. Woungang is the author/editor of over 80 scholarly research papers. He serves as Co-Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Communication Networks and Distributed Systems (IJCNDS), Inderscience, U.K, and the International Journal of Information and Coding Theory (IJICoT), Inderscience, U.K. He has also been serving as the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Communication Systems (Wiley), Computers and Electrical Engineering (Elsevier), Human-centric Computing and Information Sciences Journal (Springer). Dr. Woungang has edited around 6 books in the areas of wireless ad hoc networks, wireless sensor networks, wireless mesh networks, communication networks and distributed systems, pervasive computing and systems, and coding theory, published by reputed publishers such as Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, and World Scientific. He was invited to organize, chair, or participate as TPC member of several IEEE/ACM/COMSOC International Conference/workshop programs such as GLOBECOM, INFOCOM, ICC, AINA, WiMob.
