IEEE Toronto 2002 Annual Dinner Meeting
This annual event is an opportunity for IEEE Toronto Section members to
meet each other as well as the dedicated group of IEEE volunteers who
give of their time to plan, organize and execute the wide range of
programs offered within the Section and elsewhere in Canada. Invited
guests typically include volunteer leaders from neibouring Sections and
IEEE Canada. The Section Chair reports on the past year's activities and
presents a variety of awards and recognitions.

Bob Hanna, Section Chair, welcomed all those
attending, introduced a number of Section volunteers and guests present,
and provided an overview of the past year's activities.
Mo El-Hawary, IEEE Canada
President, was introduced and delivered his words of greetings, noting some
aspects of the achievements of Canada's largest Section, noted that our
Section was formed in 1903 and declared that, effective this meeting, our
centennial year was to start.
Mo El-Hawary presents Bob Hanna, accepting on behalf
of the Toronto Section, with the Outstanding Section Growth Award.
Ray Findlay, IEEE President,
was introduced and spoke briefly, focusing on the importance of our student
members and congratulated our Section on its support of student activities.
Bob Alden, IEEE Canadian Foundation
President, was the guest speaker and spoke about the creation and activities
of the foundation. He also presented a short story about IEEE related logos
or emblems. He provided some details on the following two pages which are
available in PDF format; foundation and
emblems.
Ray Findlay, thanks Bob Alden
and presented him with a token of appreciation (an IEEE pen and pencil set)
on behalf of the Toronto Section.
